The Jentschmann Weldsonic™Filter is an ultrasonic welding machine for continuous welding, gluing and sealing of filter materials.
The welding process bonds the materials directly together. For non weldable materials (e.g. cellulose) the machine uses hot melt adhesive tapes to ensure a strong bond. The welding process bonds the materials directly together. For non weldable materials (e.g. cellulose) the machine uses hot melt adhesive tapes to ensure a strong bond. The hot melt tape is selected according to the necessary specification and is fed directly between the two layers of material by application specific guiding devices. The adhesive is activated by ultrasound and is cured within a few seconds. Sonotrode and anvil wheel are driven by independent servo motors to provide accurate and consistent material feeding. An integrated conveyor belt supports the transfer of the filter packs when passing the welding station. This guarantees a straight flat seam even when using heavy materials.

Concept
Most machine functions are activated by using the touch screen. When touching the symbols on the display, the machine will perform the corresponding functions. Most machine functions are activated by using the touch screen. When touching the symbols on the display, the machine will perform the corresponding functions. Material-related welding- and machine parameters are stored in the control and can be recalled in seconds. The Weldsonic™Filter uses ultrasound to provide the bonding energy. The material moves between the sonotrode and anvil while the ultrasound melts the material or the adhesive tape. The seam design and dimension is set by the surface and width of the anvil wheel. The energy delivered to the material is controlled by the ultrasonic amplitude, the anvil pressure and the welding speed. Depending on the filter dimensions some manual adjustments may be necessary - e.g. the alignment of the material guide or the height adjustment of the working table. The material guide is adjustable by opening a set screw and moving it on a guide rail. The height adjustment of the working table is motor driven and controlled by a push on a button. The working table position is selected according to pleat height. After aligning the filter pleats in the guide the operator pushes the filter forward until the material is under the anvil / sonotrode. The machine then continues to feed the material automatically while the operator prepares the next filter.
